One of my favorite things about Kris Allen is that he doesn't over-embellish. It drives me crazy when someone sings a cover of a song, particularly of a ballad like this, and they go crazy with the runs and slides and whatnot trying to impress people, but they end up just totally obliterating the song's natural beauty. I love that Kris just lets his smooth-as-silk voice shine and doesn't try to show off. :)

several of the original versions were recorded by Garth Brooks and also Trish Yearwood, for the wedding planner... my friend used it years back for their dance... beautiful song

@IloveSirLancelot I totally agree with you! He captured my heart on Idol and I still love and adore him and his music. He's such a natural talent and like you said, he doesn't try to over do it or be anyone other then himself in his most understated way! Raw talent at it's best!

@ladysman517 Please quit comparing them! They aren't competing and have separate careers. It's a matter of opinion and it's ok to disagree but please stop with the Adam crap. This is a Kris video and has nothing to do with Adam. I for one will listen to Kris over Adam any day. He's a better vocalist and more genuine! It's all a matter of opinion but I don't care for Adam's style of music. I think Adam is an amazing talent but just not my cup of tea.
