i don't like to pick the music apart with negativity..open your ears and ENJOY. of course Alison's voice is great- that's a given, and Robert seems to have somehow gentled himself to the point where we are reminded of his past work, but with Alison, he has stretched the limits of a romantic side. the blend is great..and just the touch of raunch is teasing to the imagination. i love it.

Haven't taken time to read others comments.I have the time to post a comment about this duet.{{{ I LOVE THE It }}}!!! I have always liked Alison's voice.I feel her voice is as an angel's voice would sound singing.I actually didn't even know who Robert Plant was!! But I do now!!! I bought this CD for 1 song. I enjoyed,"Please read the letter." I have fell in love with the other songs.Every tune is unique and the different instruments used are so interesting.5 ***** all the way!!! Great job,A&R!

This record is so good it amazes me every time I hear it. My friend said that I had to hear the new Plant record and I thought, yeah, more old rocker music, but this is so amazingly good I was TRULY stunned!

Soooo glad they won Grammys for this. I can kind of understand people bashing Plant if all they know is "Stairway" and "Whole Lotta Love". If you want to hear some great Zep, listen to "Thats The Way", "Rain Song" "Tea For One", or Plants other duet with a woman, "Battle of Evermore"

Holy crap. I know Im a little late to this party....just discovering this album now...but my goodness. This is amazing. This is fresh, original, plodding, brilliant, deliberate, loose, and engaging. Its neither Alison or Robert Plant specifically, but how this is arranged and thought through that is brilliant. These arrangements are inspiring and fantastic! And I must admit that Robert Plant's voice, just here and there, tickles a little somethin forgotten. Awesome!

You can breath amazing atmosphere in this sound and this album is stylish work.
I love rock n roll as many of you and i loved Plant as a rocker....but i have to be objective...he is a great artist and not just a super rocker

Alison Kraus is probably the greatest female voice since Patsy Cline. On top of that she is a world class player. Put that together with Robert Plant and the great
T-Bone had to be magic. It was. I saw her open for Garth Brooks early in his career. He said what everybody was feeling, "Well she's not going to be an opening for long."

I'm really jealous of T Bone Burnett, he's always involved in these great projects. Krauss & Plant, the Crazy Heart soundtrack, the Walk the Line soundtrack.
He and Kris Kristofferson definitely got me interested in country/bluegrass music much more than I was before.

@keetredkid you're absolutely right, man. I'm a singer/songwriter as well, and I couldn't stop writing songs if I tried. Like Paul McCartney said in an interview, "it's like a hobby you find yourself doing; a part of your personality." A musician's work is never 'done'. Bands come and go, but look at all the successful songwriters in history, McCartney, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan... they never stop making music!
